Every logo redesign project has unique challenges. This is no exception. At one time, Trango Systems was operated as two companies, one division being Trango Broadband Wireless. After many years of operating with this divided structure, separately serving markets of analog wireless security markets and digital broadband services, they decided to regroup under one brand, the original, Trango Systems.
This was an interesting creative problem, as with any redesign of a long standing brand, there were meaningful emotional ties to classic legacy elements that the team wanted to preserve. Of course the goal was to modernize and simplify, as well as strengthening the mark’s footprint and convey a high tech feel. The original logos featured a unique swoosh that was much thinner and almost circular (seen here). It was important to keep the colors close to original as well as an integrated swoosh for recognition and representative of wireless waves movement.
The new bold and capitalized custom font makes for a much stronger and tighter foot print than before. The new logo emphasizes the brand’s key name, “Trango,” which goes along with people in the marketplace and long-time customers who refer to the company simply as “Trango.”
All around, it was a successful logo redesign, if I do say so myself.
